What is a To-Do List for Juniors College Application?

ImageAs summer approaches and high school juniors are inundated with SATs, AP exams, Regents, and finals, it’s all too easy to forget that college application deadlines are just on the horizon. If you’re thinking about applying early action, many colleges will start accepting applications as early as September. Here’s a handy checklist to keep you on top of things and help you plan accordingly throughout the summer and beyond as suggested by a SAT tutor Long island:

  • Sit down with your parents, athletic coaches, and high school guidance counselors and start compiling a tentative list of colleges you might be interested in. Plan visits to as many campuses as possible over the summer, and try to schedule the visits for when your parents can get off from work.
  • Start requesting letters of recommendation from your teachers and coaches now, before the school year ends.
  • Start drafting personal statements and application essays now. If your parents and teachers can’t help you, our college admissions counseling service includes comprehensive college essay help from concept to final copy.
  • Register for any required standardized tests you haven’t taken yet. If you already took a test and your scores didn’t meet your expectations, consider getting a SAT tutor NYC and re-taking the test.
